How a contract is formed

Placing an order is an offer to buy. We send an acknowledgement email straight away, which is not an acceptance. The contract is formed when we email to confirm your order has been dispatched. If we cannot fulfil your order we will tell you and refund any payment in full.

Prices and payment

All prices are in pounds sterling and include UK VAT where applicable. Delivery is charged separately and shown before you pay.

We take payment when you place your order. We accept major debit and credit cards and other methods shown at checkout. Your card details are handled by our payment provider and never stored on our servers.

If a price is listed incorrectly because of an obvious error, we will contact you before dispatch and give you the choice of paying the correct price or cancelling for a full refund.

Products and contents

We describe the contents of each gift box in full on its product page. If a listed item becomes unavailable we will substitute an item of equal or higher value and tell you by email before dispatch. You may cancel for a full refund if you would rather not receive the substitute.

Product photographs show the actual contents of the box. Handmade items such as soap bars and chocolates vary slightly in appearance between batches.

Food, allergens and storage

Allergen information for every food item is listed on the relevant product page and printed on the individual packaging. Our boxes are packed in a facility that handles nuts, milk, wheat and soya, so we cannot guarantee any product is free from traces.

If you have a serious allergy, please check the product page carefully or email us before ordering. Best before dates are at least three months from dispatch unless stated otherwise.

Who can order

You must be at least eighteen years old and resident in the United Kingdom to place an order. We deliver to UK addresses only.

Availability

Stock levels shown on the site are updated continuously but errors are possible. If an item sells out after you order, we will contact you with the options of a substitute, a wait, or a full refund.

Our right to cancel

We may refuse or cancel an order where the item is out of stock, where pricing or product information was clearly wrong, where we suspect fraud, or where we cannot deliver to the address given. In each case we refund you in full.

Liability

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable, or for business losses.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Intellectual property

All content on this site, including text, photographs, the GiftBox Britain name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors. You may not reproduce it commercially without our written permission.

Complaints and disputes

Email us first and we will try to resolve the matter within fourteen days. If we cannot, you may refer the dispute to an alternative dispute resolution provider.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your own country.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force when you place your order is the version that applies to that order.
